November is that perfect in-between month. Hopefully you've already gotten adjusted to the swing of the school year, winter is around the corner and so is the holiday season. This month is all about taking a breath and slowing down to find the beauty and meaning in the things you don't often take the time out to acknowledge. The simple stuff that makes life feel warm, calm, or even a little nostalgic. It’s also the season to reflect, to think about how far you’ve come this year, and to get inspired before everything starts fresh again.

So whether you’re sketching fall scenes, journaling what you’re grateful for, or just capturing a small moment that feels special, November is your chance to slow down and create from a different place—appreciation.

Arts & Writing Prompts

  • Write a story, poem, or journal entry about a small moment that stuck with you.

  • Create an artwork that captures the importance of a random object and turn what is seemingly nothing into something.

  • Design something inspired by gratitude—for a person, a place, or a moment that shaped your year.

  • Explore what peace looks like to you—through color, texture, words, experiences or people.

Media & Performance Prompts

  • Create a short solo video or film that tells a story in one setting through small details.

  • Record or choreograph a performance or dance that you feel connects to reflection or peace.

  • Make a “day in the life” video that highlights the small things that make your day special.

Innovation & Career Prompts

  • Design a product or concept that incorporates motifs you think fit the month of November.

  • Write about someone whose work inspires gratitude or positive change and how that inspires you creativity.

  • Reflect on how creativity itself is something to be thankful for, and how does your creative identity positively define you?

As the year starts winding down, November reminds us to slow our pace and look around to notice how much has changed and how much we’ve grown. It’s a time to create from gratitude, reflect on your journey, and take in the quiet beauty that’s already around you. Before the rush of the holidays and the new year ahead, take this month to just be present and let that feeling guide what you create next.
