HALF SAILED is a coming-of-age series set at an arts university that features a representation of myself as the main character, a filmmaker, surrounded by a bunch of other quirky creatives (musicians, filmmakers, gamers). Rivalries, romantic relationships, love triangles, friendships and more ensue where the college setting drives a lot of the storylines with film festivals, game nights, Black Student Union events, house parties, charity basketball games and even a Battle of the Bands (whcih is prominent in this season). It’s 10 episodes and has a very vibrant nostalgic vibe to it and an awkward banter-heavy, chaotic nature to it inspired by New Girl and Community with a very nostalgic soundtrack set in Orlando, Florida. It has a vintage campy 2000s comedy series style to it with a diverse cast all around.

Cast

Royce- The awkward, nerdy filmmaker making pop culture references and pursuing Jasmine, the leader of the BSU. Has a rivalry with pretentious film student Jordan. Usually wears graphic tees.

James- Royce’s roommate and sarcastic, witty gamer. LGBTQ and the voice of reason in the group. Dresses like a 2000s skateboarder.

Matt- The eccentric, chaotic rock musician who is popular but also a dork. Lives carefree, parties often, and becomes best friends with Davion. Dresses like a rockstar with leather jackets, band tees, and necklaces.

Davion- Matt’s chill, sometimes chaotic best friend. DJ and musician, LGBTQ, usually in streetwear, a bit muscular.

Jasmine- Leader of the Black Student Union and aspiring R&B musician. Royce’s love interest, confident, neurodivergent, and dorky. Dresses in vibrant clothes.

Tiana- Possessive, unhinged foil to Royce and Jasmine. Film student/actor, Jordan’s ex, and co-antagonist. Usually wears graphic tees from movies.

Jordan- Cunning, pretentious film snob, co-antagonist. Drives main conflicts with the friend group. Usually in business casual.

Angel- Chill, laid-back gamer and James’ love interest. Enjoys going on walks.

Mia- Shy, introverted, welcoming roommate for Royce and James. Befriends them both.

Tasha- Eccentric, slightly obsessive, alt-punk style, and obsessed with Matt.
