Pink or Yellow? by Riley H

When people ask me my favorite color

I say yellow.

And I think that’s the truth, deep down

you just would never be able to tell.

Everything I choose is pink, and those who like to read between the lines would probably tell me my favorite color is pink.

I just don’t think that’s true.

Yellow is what people say my personality radiates. I am sunshine, I am light, bright as can be.

If I was a color, I’d be yellow.

It can be loudly happy in bright shades, but

softly comforting and warm in pale ones. That symbolizes me, I’d like to say.

Pink can be loud, but I wouldn’t call it loudly happy.

I think pink is loud in the way that says “in your face," which

Is fun at first but after a while you’d want a change. The muted tones are cute and fun, but sometimes I think they are only cute just because they can be, not because they

want to. I love pink, and if you looked around my wardrobe or car or room you’d think pink was my favorite color. I have no disrespect for pink, just a quieter respect than it allows

I project pink, but I am yellow.

I think.
