To be immortalized by words

seems like a faraway dream

Others have done it, sure

but what quality must I have to deem

Myself worthy to be listened to

By generations to come

to be referenced in future conversations

there has to be some

Method, some formula

some direct path to success

what do others have that I don’t

And how can I possess it

Do I sacrifice something

Dear to my soul?

or do I write for eternity

chase a never ending goal

Or do I just hope

That the masses enjoy my writing

share it with their loved ones

and trust true fans to do the right thing?
